Is Dhan safe and trusted?

Dhan is operated by Raise Securities Pvt Ltd, a SEBI-registered stock broker and CDSL Depository Participant. It is part of Raise Financial Services, is a member of NSE, BSE and MCX, and is subject to the usual exchange and regulatory oversight. T7 Securities is an independent Authorised Partner and is not the broker of record.

What is the difference between T7 Securities and Dhan?

Dhan (Raise Securities Pvt Ltd) is the exchange-registered broker that holds your demat and trading accounts and executes your orders. T7 Securities is an Authorised Partner: we help you open the account, explain the platform, and stay available as a direct point of contact. We do not hold your securities or funds.

How much time does it take to open an account?

Accepted Answer

Filling in the Dhan demat application itself is quick, but activation is not instant. Once you submit your details and documents, the exchanges begin verification, and your account becomes ready for trading and investing after that clears. Most of the wait is verification, not paperwork. If anything stalls, message us and we will chase it for you.

What documents do I need?

PAN for identity, an Aadhaar, passport, voter ID or driving licence for address proof, and a bank statement, cancelled cheque or passbook for bank proof. A signature and photograph complete the set. Income proof is needed only if you open a margin or MTF account.

Who can open an account: NRI, HUF or corporate?

Dhan opens accounts for resident and non-resident individuals, Hindu Undivided Families (HUFs), partnership firms, private and public companies, LLPs and registered trusts. NRIs open custodian-based NRO accounts, which currently support Futures & Options segments. Individuals and HUFs get zero account opening and zero AMC; for NRIs, corporates, LLPs, partnership firms and trusts the annual maintenance charge is ₹800 + GST. Does opening an account through T7 cost anything?

Accepted Answer

No. Dhan charges zero account opening fees, zero AMC and zero platform fees for individual and HUF accounts. Opening through your T7 referral link is the same price as opening directly.

What is the difference between Dhan Web, Dhan App and Options Trader?

Dhan App is the mobile app for trading and investing on the go. Dhan Web is the full platform for a big screen. Options Trader is a dedicated app and web app for F&O, with option chain, Greeks and a strategy builder built in. DEXT T3 is a professional terminal for high-velocity traders. All of them sit on the same Dhan account.

Can I use DhanHQ APIs and market data?

Yes. DhanHQ is Dhan's own algo, API and data layer, and the trading APIs are free: order placement, bulk orders with order slicing, advanced order types, and margin up to 4X on 950+ stocks, with a developer portal and a closed sandbox to test in before going live. Dhan publishes average order latency under 50 ms. Real-time market feed and historical data are a separate paid subscription Dhan lists at ₹499, covering option chain through twenty levels of market depth. If you would rather not write code, DhanHQ Algos is a marketplace of ready-made strategies you can deploy to your Dhan account. You can also fire orders from TradingView alerts using webhooks as an order type. T7 does not resell or bundle any of it. You open it directly with Dhan.

What is MTF and when should I use it?

Margin Trading Facility lets you hold or buy stocks with up to 4X leverage on 1,700+ eligible stocks, paying interest only on what you use. It suits a swing trade where you are confident on direction but not on paying full upfront. Interest starts at 12.49% p.a. and rises in slabs, so it is not free money. It suits longer holds, not intraday.

How do I transfer my existing shares to a Dhan account?

Register on CDSL Easiest, complete BO ID and trusted account linking, then use the Set-up section to select your shares and transfer them to your Dhan demat account. Off-market transfer typically takes a few working days.

What are your charges as a partner?

Accepted Answer

None. You pay exactly Dhan's published tariff whether you open through T7 or directly with Dhan. We do not add a fee to your account opening, deposits, or trades.

Do you give investment advice?

No. T7 Securities does not provide investment advice, research, or recommendations. We explain how the platform works and help with onboarding and account servicing. Any investment decision you make is your own.
